Power outage yesterday disrupted Court proceedings at the Igbosere, Lagos High Court, as many Judges did not sit.
Litigants and lawyers who had cases before the Court were seen lamenting and grumblings over the outage that paralyzed activities of the court.
Litigants, lawyers, inmates and others who had arrived the courts early in the morning for business were disappointed as they were given adjustment dates.

The courts which is usually very busy and commences proceedings at 9a.m, could not sit as all the courts were in total darkness.

Daily Sun gathered that the power outage was as a result of faulty generator set that powers the courts’

It was observed that one of the courts managed to sit with the aide of rechargeable lamp.

Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu- Ighile, was seen presiding over cases in her court, with the use of a rechargeable lamp, while her registrar used her phone’s touch light to call the cases before the court.

Lawyers in the court room removed their wigs and gowns and were using files and hand fans to generate fresh air because of the hot weather.

Other lawyers whose cases were not yet called, were seen going out of the court room to receive some fresh air.
