Nwakaeme’s Trabzonspor advance into Turkish Cup final

Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme was in action for Trabzonspor as they thrashed Fenerbahce 3-1 away from home, to book their place in the Turkish Cup on Tuesday.

Nwakaeme who was on target in Trabzonspor’s last league game against Goztepe on Sunday however was replaced in the first half due to a suspected groin injury.

While Nwakaeme fired blank before he was taken off, a brace from Alexander Sorloth and another goal from Filip Novak sealed 5-2 on aggregate win after winning the first-leg 2-1.

The Turkish Super Lig leaders will now wait for the winners of the second-leg semi-final between Antalyaspor and Alanyaspor on Thursday.

Antalyaspor leading the tie 1-0 thanks to their first-leg win.
