Yakubu expects new signings to lift Abia warriors to league contention

Abia warriors player Hammed Yakubu has stated that the spate of new signings made by the Umuahia based Nigeria Professional Football League side will lift the club to league contention in the coming season.

Yakubu speaking in a chat with www.Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid he is sure the team is getting stronger and good to challenge for the league or worse case a continental ticket after the club unveiled former Flying Eagles goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke over the weekend having secured the signatures of Nzube Anaezembe from Rivers united, former Enyimba player Markson Ojobo and Vincent Edafe from Dakada FC.
“With these signings, I hope something comes out next season that we don’t well in the league to carry the league or we get a continental ticket. I believe we are good enough to carry the league with the players we get and the coach as well. He is the best coach in Nigeria league.”
