Amachree wins OSPAs Lifetime Achievement Security Award

The former Senior Regional Security Director for General Electric (GE) in Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Dennis Amachree, MON, has been awarded the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) Lifetime Achievement Award 2020.

In the first virtual presentation, the Managing Director of the OSPA, Professor Martin Gill of the University of Leicester, announced the award after a Thought Leadership Webinar titled “The Impact of Covid-19 in Nigeria: What has been the impact and the security response? The event is organized in partnership with Securex West Africa.

OSPA winners were selected by an esteemed panel of industry figures who judged entries using the same criteria which are applied across the world. Each winner demonstrated that they have performed at an exceptional level and has shown their commitment and outstanding performance within the security sector.

Amachree, a renowned security consultant, was selected for the 2020 Lifetime Achievement in Security Award, which is the highest award category of the OSPAs, for his contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria’s public and industrial security sector in the past 36 years.

Amachree was a former Assistant Director of the Department of State Services (SSS) and later worked as Country Security Manager for Halliburton Energy Services and Addax Petroleum Development Company, during the height of militancy in the Niger Delta, protecting human and technical assets of the companies.

Being the fourth edition of the awards in Nigeria, OSPA recognizes and rewards companies and individuals in the security profession, globally. Amachree thanked the organizers for bringing these global awards, that recognizes excellence in security, to Nigeria.
