MFM Coach Ilechukwu: It’s Tough But We Can Still Beat Djoliba

By Adeboye Amosu:

MFM FC head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu has admitted that his side now face a difficult task in their bid to make it to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup after going down to a 1-0 home defeat against Djoliba of Mali, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Mohamed Cisse scored the decisive goal 10 minutes from time as the Malians shocked their hosts in the first leg of their play-off tie at the Agege Stadium on Sunday.

The visitors dominated the game and could have scored more goals but for their poor marksmanship and goalkeeping ability of Ospino Egbe.

“It was a bad result for us but in football you don’t give up when you still have a chance,” Ilechukwu stated after the game.

“I must admit it’s going to be a tough one for us but we have to stay positive and keep fighting.

“We were not at our best in the game and I know this team can do better in the second leg.”

The reverse fixture will take place in Bamako on April 18.
