NPFL: Ezenwa Injured As Kwara United Hold Enyimba In Ilorin

By Adeboye Amosu:

Super Eagles goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa picked up an injury as his club Enyimba played out a 1-1 draw against Kwara United in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League match day 16 encounter in Ilorin on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Ezenwa collided with his teammate Andrew Abalogu in the 61st minute and received treatment before he was replaced by Ghanaian Fatau Dauda six minutes later.

The former FC IfeanyiUbah goalie who is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup will hope the injury is not serious enough to prevent him from making it to the mundial.

Enyimba netted the opener through veteran midfielder Ikechukwu Ibenegbu in the ninth minute.

The Peoples Elephant were awarded a penalty after Ernest Governor was upended in the box and Ibenegbu colly slotted the ball into the net.

Stephen Alfred however equalised six minutes after the break, powering in a low drive from the edge of the area.

Enyimba moved from ninth to eighth position in the table following the game, while Kwara United remain in bottom but are now unbeaten in their last three games.
