Former Super Eagles graciously gifted striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has showered praises on the Chairman of Smart City for putting up such a top-class football academy, that is of European standard.
The ex-Eagles, heavily gifted goal machine made the statement recently, when he paid a courtesy visit to the office of the Senior special adviser on Sports to Lagos state Governor, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka saying that, with what he saw from smart city, the club will achieve greatness in the nearest future.
“With what I have seen so far about this club, I have no doubt in my mind that, they will achieve a lot and win laurels in no distant time,” he said.
“With the level of experience and passion of the chairman, Adeboye, I see this club going places in future. They have very talented players and the structure of the team is very pleasing and worth emulating” he added
“My advice for the boys is for them to be disciplined, work hard and stay focused for them to achieve their dreams” he concluded.
Smart city at the weekend piped Yak Sports FC 1-0 in a friendly game, played at the Teslim Balogun stadium, SuruLere, Lagos.
