Adamu expects Nigeria’s Sand Eagles to pick World Cup ticket in Egypt

Sand Eagles head coach, Audu Adamu is confident that the team will not let  Nigerians down at the forthcoming African Beach Soccer Cup in Egypt.

The team only resumed training camp for the competition on Sunday in Lagos and they are expected to depart for Egypt on Wednesday.

However, Adamu said he sees no reason the team should succeed in Egypt and qualify for the World Cup.

“I want to say that we have done our best to keep the players in the right shape ahead of the Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.

“I agree that we could have done better with our preparations but it won’t be an excuse because the players have always been preparing on their own,”

He stressed further that they have been working hard in the camp and will pick his final team to the championship after Wednesday’s warm-up game.

“We played a friendly game against Badagry Beach Soccer team and we have another on Wednesday morning (today) before finalizing on the 12 players that will represent us in Egypt.

“My players showed that they have the enthusiasm to take the bull by the horn in Egypt.

” I have told the players what to do against Ojo Beach Soccer team tomorrow (today) that they didn’t do in the first friendly game.

“We are also going to test other players that didn’t play the first game. Abu Azeez and Suleiman Mohammed didn’t play at all and Dami Paul Danjuma was outstanding against BadagryBeachsidee.”

The African beech Soccer Cup also doubles as the continent’s World Cup qualifier series.
