Arsenal to consider move for Lille Winger Pepe to Replace Welbeck

EPL giants Arsenal are considering a January swoop for Lille’s Nicolas Pepe as they look to replace the injured England International Danny Welbeck.

It is unclear as to how long Welbeck will be sidelined for, but the forward may well miss the remainder of the season which could prompt Unai Emery to bring in January reinforcements as a result.

Lille winger Pepe has been linked with a move for Arsenal in recent weeks and, according to the Times, Emery is considering a move for the forward when the winter transfer window opens.

Pepe, who is also being tracked by Tottenham, has netted eight goals in 13 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season and is thought to be valued at around £27million.

Emery’s main target this season is to seal a Champions League qualification spot for next season and may look to recruit a couple of new faces in January to achieve his goal.
