Balogun benched again in Brighton’s defeat to Cardiff

Super Eagles reliable defender Leon Balogun watched from the bench as Cardiff fought back from a goal down to trash his Club Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 in the English premier league game on Saturday.

The former Mainz 05 of Germany defender who joined Brighton shortly before the world cup has struggled for game time no thanks to partnership of Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk for the Chris Hughton side.

Brighton took an early lead as Lewis Dunk scored in the 6th minutes, but the host Cardiff restored parity on 22 minutes throughCullum Patterson, before Ivorian international Souleymane Bamba completed the come back in the 90th minutes.

Balogun is expected to be in action for the Super Eagles as they take on the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in all important 2019 AFCONqualifier billed for November 17 in Johannesburg.
