Falcons Striker Rasheedat Ajibade believes that class and experience will help Super Falcons beat the Bayana Bayana of South Africa to retain the AWCON title they won in Cameroon in 2016.
South Africa are going into the Saturday’s final with full confidence, having defeated the Super Falcons 1:0 back in the group stage and went ahead to top the Group B, while the eight-time champions finished in the second position.
Ajibade who’s making her debut in the tournament opined that the Thomas Dennerby’s girls class and experience will steer them to another major championship victory in Ghana.
“I am confident about the chances of the Super Falcons in the Africa Women Cup of Nations final against South Africa,”
“Though God disposes of whatever man proposes to achieve because it is not just about how good a team is that help them success or the trophy at times in competition.
“I am very confident because of the quality and experience of players in the team. It will play a key role if any team or group of people want to succeed in tournaments like this.
“The players we have here are regulars in their various clubs and not second fiddle, in a very good shape and also played the competition and won several times.
“I believe we everyone on the team combined forces in the game proper like we’ve done so far in unity, love, cohesion and with great determination, we will triumph.
The Robo FC of Lagos star, however, heap praises on the South Africans, As they remain the only unbeaten side in the competition.
“South Africa are also a good team because qualifying to the final is as good as winning the trophy because they are not a pushover.
“So, everyone is going to put in their best. The fact remains we are the giant of Africa and we have to work extra hard to retain our trophy.”
Both teams are through to the Women’s world cup in France alongside Cameroon, but Nigeria is seeking for her ninth AWCON title, while the South Africans want to taste the glory for the first time.
