Nigeria’s Super Falcons players are N2.2m richer after Capitalists Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad redeemed their combine N75m promises made to the team after they successfully won the 11th African Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana last month.

However the historical feat didn’t go unnoticed as well meaning Nigerians including Chairman of Dangote group Aliko Dangote and BUA Group CEO, Abdul Samad pledged to reward the team.

The team was presented with the cheque of N50 million from Dangote Group and N25m from BUA Group at the dinner organised by the Nigeria Football Federation for its partners.

A source told brila.net’s Seyi Alao that a total of N46.2m was shared among the 21 players not including the officials that were in Ghana for the tournament.

“Each player got N1.5m from Dangote and N700,000 from BUA which came to N2.2m,” a source said.

The NFF had paid the team 10,000 USD per player pledge for clinching their 9th AWCON title.
