Former MLS Star Fanendo Adi will have to redeem a ₦1.1million pledge to Lobi Stars for the victory over Gor Mahia in the first round second leg match of the CAF Champions League qualifiers on Saturday.
Adi, who plays for FC Cincinnati in the United Soccer League Championship, reportedly promised the NPFL winners ₦500,000 for every goal scored and ₦1million for a win against the Kenyan team.
Fortunately, Lobi Stars sealed a spot in the group stage of the competition with a comfortable 2-0 win at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Saturday.
They thus advanced on a 3-3 aggregate win, following the 3-1 first-leg result in Nairobi.
