Finidi expects tough game for Eagles in Johannesburg

Finidi George says Bafana Bafana will be a hard nut to crack at home but believes the Super Eagles will find a way past them when both team clash on Saturday in Johannesburg.

The Stuart Baxter’s side beat the Super Eagles 2-0 in Uyo back in July 2017 but the Gernot Rohr’s side had since recovered from the set back to win their last three games, which took them to the top of the Group E with nine points, one point ahead of the Saturday’s opponents.

Finidi, a former AFCON winner, however, believes that the home defeat will motivate Nigeria to get their pound of flesh at the FNB stadium on Saturday.

“Nigeria is playing with lots of confidence and I believe they’ll win on Saturday,” Finidi told SportingLife.

“South Africa always want to beat Nigeria especially after their victory in Uyo – that’s why they’ll fight till the end but the Super Eagles will have an edge at the end.”

The Bafana Bafana of South Africa are yet to concede a goal in the qualifiers and are the only unbeaten side in the Group E after four rounds of matches.
