Former German Goalkeeper and legend Oliver Kahn is the favourite to become the club’s new president with Uli Hoeness set to move on.
Hoeness has indicated that he is likely to leave his position as Bayern’s president, and will have to make a decision on his future ahead of the club’s annual general meeting, which takes place on November 30.
According to SportBild, former goalkeeper Kahn is in line to succeed Hoeness.
Kahn has a close relationship with Hoeness and could now be set to take up a prominent position at the club where he spent the majority of his playing career.
Lothar Matthaus, another former Bayern star, believes that Khan is the best candidate.
Kahn, one of the standout goalkeepers of his generation, joined Bayern from Karlsruher in 1994 and remained at the club for 14 years.
During that time he made 632 appearances and won an array of trophies, including the Champions League and eight Bundesliga titles.
Bayern have got off to a concerning start under new manager Niko Kovac – they are currently in fifth place in the Bundesliga, seven points adrift of leaders Borussia Dortmund.
