Gunmen abduct 3 sisters in Lagos

Three female students of the same parents were abducted by gunmen last Thursday, on their way from school in Ikeja, Lagos.

The parents of the victims, Mr. and Mrs. Otulana, said they were yet to get a message on why they were abducted.

The victims, two secondary school students and their little sister in the primary section of the school (names withheld) in Ikeja, Lagos, were abducted while returning from the school last Thursday.

The eldest, Otulana Oluwatomisin Victoria, is 15, an SS2 student, while her two younger sisters are: Otulana Oluwadarasimi Esther, who was born on May 18, 2011, and eight-year-old Otulana Modesire Annabelle.

Their mother, Mrs Otulana, said she was called by the abductors to inform her that her children had been abducted. She said the family has been in grief since last week, especially as the abductors were yet to give any condition for the release of the children.

“I was expecting my daughters after the closing hours of school on Thursday, expecting that there would be holidays on Friday and Monday. I was curious when I didn’t see them when they were supposed to have been home, only to receive a call from an unknown person, telling me that my daughters have been abducted.

“I was trying to make further enquiry about their whereabouts and the reason for abducting them, but the person just cut the call and has not called back since Thursday last week. I could not call back because he hid the number he used to call me. He let me hear the voice of my children to ascertain that they were in their captivity.

“The whole family has been in great fear and panic since last week, especially when we are yet to hear from the abductors. We haven’t heard the voices of our children since last week, we don’t know where they are, we don’t know what they eat, we don’t know what they are doing with them.

“I don’t know why my three children were abducted, this is so terrible. We are appealing to anyone with useful information about their whereabouts to please contact the nearest police station or law enforcement officers.”

A police officer said the Area G Police Command,Ogba was investigating the case
Lagos State Police Publlic Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the case was not reported to any Police Station within the jurisdiction they claimed the incident occured, ” the family should furnish the police with necessary information, but for now , I have called the Police Stations within Ikeja, but nothing like that was reported”.
