Heartland football club of Owerri thrashed league favourite Plateau United 3-0 in the match day two of Nigeria professional football league at Dan Ayam stadium in Owerri on Wednesday.
Plateau United travelled to the Eastern part of country on back in desperation for a win after their 0-0 draw with FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the opening game in Jos.
Maikaba boy was never looked like a side that’s going to get a point from the game as Heartland who also lost their opening game 1-0 to Kano Pillars was fighting for every balls and creating the best chances to take the lead.
The Nazi millionaires were unlucky not to take the lead in the first half but they got the well deserved lead seven minutes after an our mark as Yahere Emmanuel put them in front with an emphatic finish pass Dele Ajiboye in goal.
Heartland were fired up by the goal and they continue to search for the second goal which later arrived in the 79th minutes from Chinoso Okonkwo after a good team work.
Heartland added the third through Chinoso Okonkwo again in the 87th to seal the three points and leave Maikaba’s side without a win after two games.
