An investigator said the helicopter crash which killed Leicester City Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and four others lost control because of a mechanical fault.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch on Thursday (yesterday) revealed that the mechanism which linked the pilot’s pedals with the tail rotor blades was disconnected and led to the helicopter becoming uncontrollable before it stopped moving and crashed.
“The helicopter which crashed killing Leicester City’s chairman and four others spun out of control after a mechanism became disconnected, investigators said.
An inspection at the crash scene found parts of a mechanism linking the pilot’s pedals with the tail rotor had become disconnected and there was a “build-up of black grease” on one component.”
The incident took place just outside the King Power Stadium after a Premier League game on Oct. 27.
