LMC hammer falls on EL-KANEMI Warriors, Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes

Nigeria Professional Football League side El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri has been fined N1 million for fans encroachment immediately after their NPFL Matchday 4 tie against Nasarawa United.

The Northern based Club needed a 96th goal to beat the Solid Miners which send the fans into ecstasy with some of them running to the playing surface of the stadium and halted play in the process.

However, The League Management Company has decided to slap the with a fine of a million naira and ordered the to play its subsequent home games behind closed doors, which order is suspended for the probationary period of the remainder of the season.

In other development, Plateau United and Struggling Niger Tornadoes were also charged for breaching NPFL Framework & Rules during its Matchday 5 fixture vs Kano Pillars and Bendel insurance of Benin respectively.

Some supporters of the Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes were spotted throwing objects including stones & sticks at the match officials as they made their way off the pitch after the final whistle.

The League organisers has therefore fine has decided to find the Club N1 million each for acts of throwing objects at the match officials and technical areas of opponents .

The Clubs has been ordered to play their remaining home matches behind the closed door, although they have 48 hours to appeal the sanctions.
