Ondo State Police command has arrested a 45 years old footballer, Bankole Oginni for allegedly killing his ex lover.
The deceased whose identity was not disclosed was said to be 44 years old.
It was gathered that the suspect and the deceased had disagreement, but the suspect eventually lured her to his house at Oke Aro area of Akure, where he allegedly killed her.
Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmilayo Odunlami, who gave details of the incident, explained that the deceased was found dead inside her ex lover’s house.
She informed that the suspect has been arrested and currently detained at the police custody where he was also being investigated.
The PPRO said,” a lady reported at the police station that her mother’s ex lover identified as Bankole Oginni called and invited her over to his place at Oke Aro area of Akure and after she left for his house, she did not return and her phone was switched off.
“She traced her mother to the house, only to find her lifeless body in the room of the ex lover with her legs and hands tied and her body opened with intestines removed.
” The suspect is currently in police custody, while the deceased has been deposited at the morgue,” she added.
