The Managing Director of Fouani Company, three brothers and boat captain have been rescued.
They were rescued by the Nigeria Police with the Nigerian Navy .
They were rescued Monday night at about 11 pm and have been reunited with their families.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundyin confirmed the rescue of the Lebanese and their staff.
Gunmen on Friday abducted MD of Fouani Company along with three Lebanese brothers who work for Fouani Nigeria Ltd while travelling by boat in Lagos.
Fouani Nigeria Ltd specialises in electronics and is the sole distributor of LG, Hisense and Maxi products in Nigeria.
The brothers – Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani and Amtal Fouani – were said to have been abducted around 6pm on Friday.
They were reportedly coming from their factory by boat when they were abducted under Folomo bridge.
They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo.
According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundyin,” yes ,they were rescued yesterday at about 11 pm. Our Marine Police with the support of Nigerian Navy brought them to shore. Thereafter, our tactical team in the area took them home on Banana Island in the early hours of today. Five of them, three Lebanese, the boat captain and his assistant.
The kidnappers had contacted the families of the victims demanding of $1.5 million,but Hundyin could not give details on how they were rescued and whether ransom was paid or not.
