The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu( aka Sam Larry) over the ongoing investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of 27-year-old singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Lagos State Police Publlic Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the development in a statement released on Thursday night, saying,“Yes, Balogun Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.”
There had been reports that the state police command had earlier invited Marlian Label boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley and Sam Larry for questioning over Mohbad’s death.
Naira Marley, who has been outside the country has promised to return to Nigeria to assist the police in the ongoing investigation and to clear his name from the allegation of the murder of Mohbad.
A police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity,said that so far, people have been sending messages to the police on what they should look out for during investigation on the controversial death of Mohbad.
The officer said, so far , we have heard lots of stories and many fingers are pointing at Naira Marley and Sam Larry, so we have no alternative than to invite them for questioning. Sam Larry is with us, but Naira Marley is still abroad, but there is a limit to which can wait for him to turn up and we will contact the INTERPOL to do the needful.
The police last week, also confirmed that pathologists had concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while they await the result.
