The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 30 suspects who were protesting the scarcity of new Naira notes in Sagamu ,Ogun State.
Protests broke out on Monday morning by some residents who took to the streets and disturbing Publlic peace. The protesters barricaded the roads, causing stampede and disrupting commercial activities.
However, the police and other security agencies, led by the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Frank Mba, stormed Sagamu and restored normalcy.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the Sagamu area is now calm.
The PPRO said, “Complete normalcy has been restored in Sagamu, not less than 30 suspects have been arrested so far, and they have been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments on the order of the Commissioner of Police CP Frank Mba.”
He added that combine team of policemen, and military men were on the ground to monitor the situation.
