The management of Nigeria professional football league side Nasarawa United have announced former Wikki tourists gaffer, Coach Bala Nkiyu as Head coach for the new season.
Bala was not the only addition to the team, Coach Sabo Ibrahim Yahaya popularly known as Bagu was also named new fitness trainer of the team.
The chairman of the Club Barr. Isaac Danladi disclosed Bala Nikyu was brought in because of his pedigree and experience.
“Coach Bala is an experienced coach who is not new to the good people of Lafia as he brought us to the NPFL years back and we believe he will do well with the team”.
“He will be taking over from Abubakar Arikya who has done well to steady the affairs of the team since the departure of Kabiru Dogo to sunshine stars.”
Coach Bala Nkiyu who previously handled the team back in 2012 will serve as the Chief Coach while Abubakar Arikya will be his first Assistant with Samson Kesh the second assistant.
Nasarawa United, however, defeated Abia Warriors in the first match of the 2018/2019 NPFL Season at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
