New National Badminton Foreign coach to resume next year, Says Obih

The President Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) Francis Obih has disclosed that the federation has hired a foreign coach to thinker the national Badminton team from next year.

It’s understood that the federation decided to look in the direction of the Chinese coach because China is the number one Badminton playing Nation in the world and have a very good development programme.

The Federation was not ready to give anything away as the name of the Chinese coach was withheld but Obih confirmed the coach and his assistants will resume in 2019.

“Chinese coach and his assistant will resume duty next year as we are determined to improve the quality of Nigeria national team. We all know that China is the best country in badminton, so if we aspire to be the best, we must go for the best.”

The President also revealed that the Chinese Badminton Federation will help fund the salaries and the allowances of the coaches.

“The federation will not be responsible for the payment of salaries and allowances of the coach as well as his assistant. It is sponsored by the Chinese Badminton Association.”

Obih, however, added that the Nigeria Badminton governing body is trying to put everything necessary in place so that the National Badminton league can star next year.

“We are trying on starting the badminton league next year, it is in pipeline and probably may kick off next year.
