Two Nigerian Para Rowers have arrived Tunisia where they’ll take part in the Para-Rowing Camp as part of the preparation for Paralympics in 2020.
In a chat with Secretary General of the Nigeria Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation Olubunmi Oluode Ola told brila.net that rowers; one based in Nigeria and the other in England, will take part in the 10-day camping exercise that began on February 1.
Meanwhile, the Athletics Federation of Nigeria President Ibrahim Gusau has called on corporate Nigeria to take advantage of the Federal Government’s tax rebate offer to organizations that invest in sports.
Gusau admitted it was a “Herculean” task for Sports Federations to bring in the type of sponsorships that will help grow sports as well as support Nigerian Athletes to excel at major international tournaments.
The AFN Chief told brila.net that as a body they can only appeal and sell the policy of encouragement to stakeholders, urging them to seize the Tax holiday opportunity as proffered by the government.
