The Zone 2 Police Command, comprising Lagos and Ogun states, has arrested three persons with two suspected human hearts in Ogun State.
According Zonal Police Publlic Relations Officer (ZPPRO)SP Ayuba Tunni Umma, one Moshood Najimdeen was arrested at his residence in Oke-Ola area of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, with two suspected human hearts discovered during a search at his residence.
“During interrogation, the suspect implicated one Adebanjo Wasiu ‘m’, whom he claimed to have paid N50,000.00 to assist in obtaining the two human hearts. Adebanjo Wasiu in turn, pointed to one Segun Asunni as the source of the hearts.
“Investigation has commenced into the alleged offence, while the two suspected human hearts have been sent to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) for thorough examination and confirmation, further findings will be communicated.
“The Assistant Inspector -General of Police AIG Ari Muhammed Ali, implores residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any form of unwholesome activities in their respective areas to the nearest Police formation within their locality. Meanwhile he echoes his commitment to ensuring safety of lives and property of residents of Lagos and Ogun States”.
However, a senior Police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to the press said the suspects claimed that the hearts were that of pigs and not humans,” they claimed that the principal suspect contracted them to get human hearts for him, but they deceived him that they brought human hearts, but they were with hearts of pigs”.
