A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his roommate at Kogberegbe Street in Isolo area of Lagos.
The suspect,Friday Ogbaga, allegedly stabbed Friday Nwife, to death with a broken bottle.
The cause of the fight was not known, but they were said to be living in the same room before the fight broke out between them.
According to a police source,” On July 9, at about 11.32 pm, a distress call was received at the Station,that a fight broke out between Friday Ogbaga, and Friday Nwife,both 25 years old. During the scuffle, Ogbaga, allegedly broke a bottle; stabbed Nwife, in the chest and he slumped. Based on the report,a team of policemen was mobilized to the scene. The victim was rushed to Isolo General Hospital for treatment where he was certified dead by medical doctor on duty.The body was evacuated to IDH morgue, Yaba, for autopsy,while the suspect has been taken into custody .
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin,who confirmed the story,said the suspect has been arrested and was being interrogated by the police.
