The Lagos State Police Command, has confirmed the arrest popular singer Azeez Fashola( aka Naira Marley),in connection with the controversial death of Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.
Naira Marley was outside the country during the controversial death of his music signee, Mohbad and he was needy by the police to answer some questions as he was fingered as a suspect.
In a press statement, Naira Marley has assured the police that he would soon return to Nigeria to assist in the investigation as he was not fugitive.
However, Naira Marley kept to his promise as he returned to the country and handed himself over to the Lagos State Police Command.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said, “Azeez Fashola(aka Naira Marley), has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.
On September 12, 2023), the news of MohBad, a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos, who was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records and left the label in 2022 went viral on the social media.
Immediately, his fans instituted #Justice4MohBad which became a social movement and protest series from mass tweets.It became one of Nigeria’s largest social movements and protests considerably drawing media attention internationally, after the End SARS movement. The #Justic4MohBad movement is set on becoming a groundbreaker for injustice in the corrupt system in Nigeria. Many people were called out for his death and the police have started Corona inquest into his death and called on anyone who knows what caused his death to come and tell them.
