Three suspected cultists have been arrested by the operatives pf the Lagos State Police Command .
The suspects were arrested by the operatives pf the Anti Cult Squad ,who were deployed to the area following the killing of a police Assistant Superintendent of Police .
The arrested persons were identified. as Sakiru Shitu and Taofik Tiger ,who were said to be notorious members of a cult group in Ikorodu
The arrested suspects were allegedly responsible for the killing of a police ASP at Emuren junction last Thursday
It was gathered that the suspected cultists had last week also invaded Adamo area of Ikorodu ,where they killed a resident , simply identified as Taiye Olusanyin .
Residents of Oke Gbodo ,where Olusanyin was killed said that the cult members cut off his two hands and took them away .
They also reportedly absconded with the riffle of the slain policeman and that of his colleagues ,when they invaded Emuren junction .
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police ,Idowu Owohunwa had immediately called for a manhunt for the killer cultists .
It was gathered that two of the arreated suspects were escaping from the town ,when policemen were alerted .
A police source at Imota police station confirmed the arrest of Anobi Adamo Adamo to our correspondent and added that they were as ar Wednesday afternoon still in their custody .
” We got a hint that they are escaping from the town and we went after them . Luckily,we arrested two of them . We have arrested another member of the gang ..”
The police source added that ” We are on the trail of others . We will arrest all pf them .”
