Police nab 2 cable vandals in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspected cable vandals attempting to cut armoured cables in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The suspects were arrested by officials of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the command.

According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin,”the suspects, Wasiu Olainukan,25,and Habib Rasaq,30, were arrested on Saturday, October 29, at about 3:45 a.m. while excavating and cutting cables powering street lights in the area.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who were arrested with a handsaw and cutting pliers, were labourers on Banana Island.

” Commander, Rapid Response Squad, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has since transferred the suspects and exhibits to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti for further investigation and prosecution”.
