Former Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte could return to Management; sooner than you may think, as Real Madrid are said to be considering him as replacement for Julen Lopetegui.
Conte has become an option for the beleaguered Lopetegui following a string of poor results for Los Blancos.
Potential replacements for the Spaniard are even being considered, with Santiago Solari, currently in charge of the club’s ‘B’ team, Castilla, in the frame as an interim solution. Antonio Conte is the only top-level coach not already in a job, per Marco Ruiz [AS].
When the Italian’s candidacy was looked at by Real in the summer, there were voices in the Bernabéu boardroom who felt his strict management style would clash with a dressing room full of egos.
The club’s hierarchy are in agreement that now is not the time for a change of coach, but there is an acceptance that they must also be prepared for the worst and, with that in mind, a point of no return has been identified: the Clásico against Barcelona on 28 October.
