Remo Stars midfielder Michael Bolaji has set his sight on playing on the continent next season after sealing a return to the Nigeria professional football league on Wednesday.
Remo Stars finished as runner up with six points from three games to Bendel Insurance of Benin who topped the western conference of the NNL super eight with a maximum nine points as both teams qualified for to play in the elite division next season.
While reflecting on the Sky Blues return to the NPFL, Bolaji who returned from a knee injury to play a huge part on the Club’s promotion told Brila.net’s Seyi Alao that the boys sacrificed a lot to clinch the return ticket to NPFL.
“I think we sacrifice a lot, we don’t go for a break like other club and we work hard work and have the determination to win every game ”
The 19-year-old former Kogi United and Kada City youngster added that the club is not coming to the premier league to make up the numbers but to continue their progress and secure a continental ticket at the end of 2018/2019 season.
” We have a target to play in the CAF competition in upper season, so we are ready to fight for it and I bet you Remo Stars will deliver come next season.” He told brila.net
Remo Stars, Bendel insurance of Benin Kada City of Kaduna and Gombe United are the four teams that secured premier league ticket for next season and they all have been excused from matchday one of the season which kick-off on the 13th of January.
