Funding challenges of Women’s football are not peculiar to Nigeria, it is a bane of the sport in Africa according to Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode.
Falode told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat most clubs can barely hold up their end of the financial obligations to players in the Nigerian league, but also argues that national teams on the continent withdraw from qualifiers and tournaments over paucity of funds.
The Women’s Football chief was reacting to concerns that the quality of the Women’s football and the League has taken a nose dive because of the challenge of funding.
