Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf banned from all football activities

Salisu Yusuf has been banned from all football activities in Nigeria for one year after he was caught on tape accepting cash to pick players in his WAFU team.

The communique was published in a report submitted to the NFF Secretariat on Tuesday, days after inviting the coach to state his own side of matters by the Committee, chaired by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

A decision has now been reached and the coach will not participate in anything related to football for another 12 months, casting doubts over his role with the Nigeria men’s Olympic team.

Earlier, Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has reportedly confirmed that his assistant coach, Yusuf Salisu will not be part of the team set up against Seychelles.

Rohr explained: “we have to wait for the report from the Ethics committee, it is not in my position to answer whether he(Salisu) will be back or not.”

He continued, “it is the duty of my employer of labour that will determine whether he will be in the team next match. Mine is to coach the team and not the administrative point of view.”

The Super Eagles will take on the Seychelles National team on Saturday, 8th 2018.
