The Super Falcons will commence preparation for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup as early as January with a friendly against a European team.
After a successful campaign at the just concluded CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations where they picked up one of three tickets to represent Africa in the World Cup finals, the team is hoping to do better than al its previous outings.
Nigeria’s Falcons will be making their 8th appearance in the World Cup finals and would for the first time ever be led by a foreign Coach.
Thomas Dennerby picked the World Cup ticket in the semi-final of the AWCON with victory over Cameroon before sealing the AWCON title against South Africa in the final.
The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, the eight edition, will kick off 7th June.
