Super Falcons star Halimatu Ayinde warns Bayana Bayana ahead AWCON Finals

Super Falcons midfielder, Halimatu Ayinde has assured Nigerians that the team will do everything they can to emerge victorious in the Saturday’s final of Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana.

The Falcons earned a hard-fought victory over the indomitable Lioness of Cameroon in the semi-final while the Bayana Bayana of South Africa strolled pass Mali in the second semi-final to put themselves in contention for Africa’s women biggest football crown.

Having faced each other in the opening Group B game of the competition, the South Africans ran away with a 1-0 victory over their rivals, but Ayinde believes the final will be a different ball game and his teammates will come out fighting like a lioness.

“It will be more tough playing against them now than we did in the group stage but I believe that we better now than when we started and have good players who could face challenges and who have what it takes to get through tough situations like this many times.

“I have no fear in my heart because we will always find our way around every situation, not just against South Africa alone.

“I am saying this because of the kind of players we have here and the mentality of the team, I can say everyone is ready to do it for the country.

The influential midfielder added that she’s hungry for more titles and want to make Nigerians happy.

“Personally, coming this far with the team, I don’t want to disappoint my fans, my nation, my dad, and myself.

“I want to give my very best because I know I am a great footballer come rain, come sun and hungry to win more African titles.”
