U-20 AFCON : Aremu out of the tournament with injury

Flying Eagles influential midfielder Afeez Aremu Will miss the remaining matches of the ongoing  2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in the Niger Republic due to injury.

The Ik Start midfielder who has struggled for form in the tournament so far sustained a foot injury in training on Tuesday and he’s expected to the out for at least two weeks.

 

The 20-year-old former Akwa United star will now miss Wednesday’s semi-final game against Mali as the Flying Eagles chase 9th African title.

 

Aremu started the opening two games against Burundi and South Africa for Paul Aigbogun’s tutored side before he was left put of the final group game against hosts Niger Republic, which the team went on to win by a lone goal.

 

The Paul Aigbogun side which finished top of Group A has picked ticket for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, after their 1-0 win over hosts Niger in their last Group A match on Friday.

 

Flying Eagles of Nigeria will know their group opponents at this year FIFA under 20 World cup holding in Poland on February 24th.
