Wasiu Jimoh happy to condemn Remo Stars to first defeat of the season

After helping Rivers United to the top of the Nigeria professional football Group B table, Wasiu Jimoh says he still has a lot to do If he’s to continue to deliver at the top level.

The former 3SC of Ibadan forward grabbed a late winner which condemned Remo Stars to their first defeat of the season in a Week One Rescheduled Match Of 2019 abridged Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season played at Yakubu Gowon stadium in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

‘I feel very happy scoring a goal at that time, although we have to keep pushing to make a great impact in the next game’. He said.

The attacker who was hailed as one of the best in the league by his teammate Peter Ubakanma was yellow carded for removing his shirt as he celebrates his winning goal.

“A lot was going through my head after scoring that goal and that was the first thing I could do. I scored against one of the best teams in the League”.

He concluded by stating his season target and expectations for the team.

‘I am not yet in my top form, as I’m still struggling to get back to that form and I believe in a matter of time, I will get there, through hard work and self-confidence. My target is to make sure the team qualify for super six and also score double-digit of goals’. He concluded.

Rivers United will visit Seven-time Champions Enyimba FC in a Matchday Six clash on Sunday and will be hoping to maintain their lead on the log.
