18-year-old Nigerian goalkeeper to sign first Pro contract for Barnsley

Cornerstonenewsng.comhas gathered that 18-year-old Nigerian Prodigy Edward Ogbegbor-Onaiwu and his handlers are in talks with representatives of Barnsley over the signing of the young goalkeeper in the ongoing January transfer window.

The Anglo-Nigerian, who plays for the youth team of the EFL league one outfit, was between the sticks on Saturday as Barnsley played a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United in a U18 professional development league tie in which he denied Sheffield all the three points as he saved a spot-kick from Brunt with 20 minutes remaining.

The 18-year-old goalie is eligible to represent England at International level but has been called up to train with the Golden Eaglets and the Flying Eagles.

Ogbebor-Onaiwu was also on fine form in a friendly against Manchester United U18 side and also kept a clean sheet against Birmingham City U18 side in a trial game.
