2018 Aiteo Cup Final: Okey Odita and Junior Lokosa ready to do battle.

Arguably they are two of the biggest football Clubs in country and Nigeria football faithfuls are expecting fire works, great game of football as former Nigeria Professional Football League Champions, Kano Pillars and Rangers International football Club of Enugu clash in 2018 Aiteo cup final on Wednesday.

 

Rangers reached the final having  come back from two goals down to outscore Nasarawa United 4-2 in semi-final played in Kano, while Pillars beat North West rivals Katsina United 4-1 on penalties after full time scores stood at 2-2 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

The winner of the Wednesday final is not only guaranteed a major trophy but also a chance to play continental football next season.

Rangers International Captain Okey Odita told Brila.net’s Oluwaseyi Alao that the 2016 Nigeria professional football league champions are leaving no stone unturned in a bid to come out victorious in Asaba.

“We are in the final stage of our preparation, we know what is at stake . We want to win the final, we have what it takes to beat Kano Pillars, They are good side but not special”.

On the other hand, Kano Pillars who defeated giants like Rivers United and Enyimba international on way to the final are still waiting for their first Aiteo Cup title but have won the league on four different occasions.

However, Striker Junior Lokosa told Cornerstonenewsng.comhis side are eager to end their 28 years of Aiteo Cup drought .

“We are confident of winning the game, it does matter who we are playing , we just want to win it and the state Government has tried their best , they did what they can to motivate us, I’m sure we’ll deliver.

When asked about his target for the final. The 2018 Nigeria professional football league top scorer said :

” expect nothing from me but big performance from Kano Pillars”.

 

The newly constructed Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba ,Delta State will host to the final come Wednesday 24th October.
