2019 AFCON: Super Eagles will do the business in Egypt – Babangida

Former Super Eagles player, Tijani Babangida has submitted that he strongly believes in the ability of the Eagles despite their absence from the previous two editions before qualifying for this edition.

Speaking with www.brila.net, Babangida re-affirmed his belief in the players to get the job done in Egypt, even as they get set for the two matches against Seychelles and Egypt later this month respectively.

“Nigeria certainly know what is in front of them, it is a business they have to finish, all they need to do is just ensure they remain calm and finish the business”.

“I strongly believe that Nigeria will surely do what they know how to do best”. It’s just a business that the players have to conclude and I know they will give their best”

“The coach has his own winning team as well as his own pattern. The boys have been doing very well and I see them doing well once again”.

Meanwhile, concerning preparation for the tournament, sports minister Achraf Sobhi revealed that the opening ceremony and first match would take place in the 74 000 capacity Cairo International Stadium which was renovated before Egypt hosted the 2006 edition.

Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said this weekend that work had begun at the stadium to replace the pitch.

Football Federation president Hany Abou Rida said he had every confidence the country would deliver a tournament to make the nation proud.

The North African country has experience in mass tourism, has a multitude of hotels, two international airports, in Cairo and near Alexandria, and a road network linking the main cities.
