“2020 Olympics could be my last”- Blessing Oborududu

African games gold medalist in 68kg, Blessing Oborududu has declared her readiness to qualify for the Olympics after missing out on automatic tickets from the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan also hinting that it could be her last competitive outing.

The world number 4 female wrestler told Cornerstonenewsng.comthat she has plans to start a coaching course in line with her intentions to retire next year. “If I qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after the games I’m done, I would love to go for a coaching course as I love to be a Wrestling coach.”

 

However, Blessing Oborududu is focused on getting an Olympic medal before bowing out and has shared her strong belief that things will change positively for Nigeria wrestling at next year’s Olympics if they get to participate in more international competitions before the tournament.

 

The world number 4 female wrestler in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comalso disclosed that qualifying and excelling at the Tokyo Olympics is her target heading into next year as well as climbing to the top of her class and enter the Olympic games as the number 1 in 68kg.
