There is palpable fear in Kwara State as four Turkish nationals were kidnapped by gunmen in Edu Local Government Area of the State. They were abducted Sunday afternoon in a drinking joint.
According to Kwara State police public relations officer, Ajayi Okasanmi, the foreigners were abducted at a drinking joint in Gbale village on Saturday night.
According to Okasanmi, those abducted are Seyit Keklik, Yasin Colak, Ergun Yurdakul, and Senerapal.
They are construction workers in the area.
Okasanmi said that the Commissioner of Police (CP), Kayode Egbetokun, has dispatched a team under Operation Puff Adder in the area to rescue the expatriates.
Egbetokun also has assured that the kidnappers would arrested and brought to book. He advised members of the public to be calm and go about their lawful duties as the police were on top of the situation.
