5 things we loved this weekend; Ndidi, Iwobi, Balogun, & others

The football season has finally returned and Cornerstonenewsng.comis bringing you the top five super Eagles stars who were in top form for their respective Clubs across Europe.

 

(1) Wilfred Oyinye Ndidi, Leicester City

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was in top form for Leicester City over the weekend and was on for the entire duration when the Foxes beat Wolves 2-0.

 

(2) Alexander Iwobi, Arsenal

Alexander Iwobi was also impressive in the Gunners side that lost 3-2 to Maurizio Sarri-led Chelsea side on Saturday at the Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old forward assisted Mikhitaryan and also got the equalizer when the game has been reduced to 2-1.

 

(3) Leon Balogun, Brighton & Hove Albion

New Brighton defender, Leon Balogun was also in top form as he came on from the substitute bench to make his Premier League debut on Sunday afternoon.

 

The 30-year-old defender was brought in at 20th minute for Injured Vice-Captain, Lewis Dunk and the Super Eagles defender was able to contain the attacking prowess of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford.

 

(4) Henry Onyekuru, Galatasaray

Super Eagles and On-loan Everton forward, Henry Onyekuru was also the star man in Galatasaray’s lone goal victory in Turkish Super Lig.

The win over Gotzepe on Sunday afternoon came on Onyekuru’s first official match for the Turkish giants.

 

(5) William Troost-Ekong, Udinese

The Super Eagles defender made his debut for Udinese in a 2-2 draw versus Parma at the Stadio Ennio Tardin, Troost- Ekong was unveiled on Friday and was thrown in to make his debut just two days after.

The former Bursaspor defender, however, justified the faith his Manager shown in him.
