7 drowned within 2 days in Lagos

The god responsible for drowning seemed to have visited the aquatic city of Lagos as seven people have been confirmed dead by drowning within two days in the state.
The Police said they were still investigating to know how the people died through drowning almost on the same day .
It was gathered that this week, between April 10 and 11, seven people have been. drowned in hotel swimming pools, beach and Lagoon.
It was gathered that on April 10, at about 10:45 am, a distress call was received at Adeniji Adele Division that, one LT commercial bus, with registration number: FKJ-872-YA that was conveying about 20 passengers allegedly had a brake failure; lost control and rammed into the guard rail on top of Third Mainland Bridge, inward Adeniji Adele, Lagos.
As a result, 18 passengers sustained serious injuries, while two others fell into the lagoon. According to a senior Police officer, based on the report, teams of traffic personnel, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and other emergency responders were swiftly mobilized to the scene; the injured victims were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, police marine team have been deployed for search and rescue of the two other victims; the vehicle was recovered and handed over to the Vehicle Inspection Officer (V.I.O’s) for Office for inspection.
Meanwhile the body of one of the accident victims has been recovered while the search for the other victim was still ongoing as at press time.
The recovery of the body was announced by the South- West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, who said that the body of the male passenger of the ill-fated bus that crashed on the Third Mainland bridge has been recovered, “the body was recovered within the vicinity of the incident scene. We are still searching for the body of the other woman”.
However, the police continued that on the same day, at about 6:17 pm, a pool attendant at a hotel located at Marina, Lagos Island, reported at Ebute Ero Division that, at about 4 pm, one Fawad Adeyemi, 16, came to their hotel to swim and got drowned; and that the victim was rescued and rushed to General Hospital, Lagos Island, for medical treatment where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
The police said that based on the report, a team of detectives visited the scene; the hospital was also visited where the corpse was inspected and photographed.
Yet on the same April 10, at about 11 pm, the manager of a Guest House located at Mushin reported at Mushin Division that, on the same day at about 7:30 pm, two young boys, names, age and addresses of the yet unknown persons allegedly got drowned while they were swimming in the hotel pool.
According to the police, the victims were rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment where they were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, “based on the report, a team of detectives visited the scene; the hospital was also visited where the bodies were inspected and photographed”.
According to the police, the following day, which was April 11, at about 5:25 pm, a case of drowning was reported at Ibeshe Division. “The complainant stated that his friend, Hakeem Fawas,20, allegedly got drowned while they were swimming at Ibeshe Beach. Based on the report, the scene was visited by a team of detectives”
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundyin, confirmed the stories, but said that the Force was investigating the stories.
