Nigeria’s Samson Tijani and Kunle Olusegun both picked individual awards at the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations qualifying championships in Niger.
On Saturday, the Eaglets defeated Ghana 3-1 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time, to pick the only ticket from the WAFU B Zone.
The 5 times World Champions also had more to celebrate as midfielder, Samson Tijani was voted the MVP of the championship while Kunle Olusegun’s 4 goals saw him pick the Top scorers award.
Olusegun bagged a brace in the opening game defeat to Burkina Faso and chipped one in when the Eaglets routed Ivory Coast 5-1. He scored his fourth and the match-winner against hosts, Niger in the semi-final clash.
