Alongside his coaching ambitions, Jack Wilshere played the last 25 minutes of West Ham win, a small step in his latest comeback from an ankle injury, but he has no plans to rest this summer and will instead work hard on getting back to full fitness.
Jack Wilshere looks certain to move into a coaching career once his playing days are over, Wilshere has been supporting NCF Elites and he’s currently a ‘working director of NCF Elite’ which provides specialist coaching of kids of all ages. It is designed to help talented youngsters get the best coaching which could help them reach the Gothia Youth World Cup — the biggest youth tournament on the planet.
The West Ham and England midfielder bought into a football coaching school – Jack Wilshere’s NCF Elites, It has two different centres and ran trials on Monday 6th, May 2019 in the hope of setting up sessions for girls.
In October 2018, Wilshere started his first soccer school and joined in with youngsters at an NCF Elites session in north London, the West Ham ’s former Arsenal midfielder took time to view the expertly-run technical sessions before talking to the kids to encourage them for the future.
Wilshere said: “All I wanted to do was play football and there were opportunities like this but there seems like there wasn’t a facility like this or coaching — the organisation. It was more, ‘Get a ball and go down the park.’
Wilshere says missing out on academy football doesn’t have to end the football dream, he said “There’s different ways of coming through. There were boys with me at the academy who have nothing to do with football now, so it doesn’t mean if you get into an academy at a young age you’re going to be a footballer or vice versa…”
“I know how much young players can gain from the chance to access their professional coaching.”
The 27-year-old completed his Football Association Level Two coaching qualification in 2016 when a loan spell at Bournemouth left him without European distraction. In 2017 he started working on his UEFA B badge, he said “But even if I’ve got another 10 years left in me, I don’t want to be at the end of my career and maybe have a year out and be thinking, what do I want to do…”
Former Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker said he encouraged Wilshere to keep up with the challenge to learn about a different aspect of football.
Fan favorite Wilshere despite his limited game time, and injury concern, he still finds motivation; “I had some up-and-down days, some days where I started to think about things. But when I’ve been injured I’ve always been thinking about there being someone in a worse position. “
