Nigeria Punch ticket for Round of 16 Spot, Omeruo delivers with first International Goal

Nigeria qualified for the Round of 16 at the AFCON 2019 following a 1-0 win over Guinea on Wednesday at the Alexandria Stadium.

Kenneth Omeruo’s near post header in the 73rd minute from a corner kick proved the winner in a game with very little excitement.

It was the Center Half’s first senior team goal for Nigeria and it came as a relief for Nigeria.

The Super Eagles qualified for the next round with a game to spare and have kept two clean sheets in the process, albeit scoring just two goals.

Nigeria’s qualification from the group was expected and they will face Madagascar in the last game of group B on June 30.
