Don’t be too ‘anxious’ against Cameroon – Agali tells Eagles

Former Super Eagles striker and ex-international, Victor Agali has called on the Super Eagles not to be too anxious when they battle Cameroun this weekend in the AFCON 2019 round of 16 clash in Alexandria.

Speaking with www.brila.net, Agali also tipped the gaffer to use some good tactics to outwit the Camerounians, while also calling for the defense to be solid and watertight.

It’s very important that we keep a tight defense, and if we are able to do that, and not allow Cameroun score, it would be a good one for us.

We must not be too anxious, I know Gernot, he’s a well-experienced coach and he knows a lot about African football.

He has watched the Cameroonians and I think he will help with some good tactics that would be able to neutralize the attack of the Cameroonians.

I believe the coach knows what to do because they are physical but we will impose our style of play and hopefully, we will get good tactics that we surely pay off.

“Cameroon defeated Nigeria in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in 1984, 1988 and 2000, but most painful for the Super Eagles was that agonizing penalty shoot-out loss in front of home fans at the National Stadium, Lagos on 13th February 2000.
